About the Author

Delia May West is the author of Under A Devon Sky: A Seasonal Diary of Blooms, Abundance & Vintage Charm. Delia is a Devon-based gardener, grower, and vintage and upcycling enthusiast who transformed a stony patch of hillside attached to her rented cottage into a floral paradise on a shoestring budget.

Her garden, Honehill Cottage Garden, was featured on BBC Gardeners' World in 2024 and has been celebrated for its beautiful, resourceful approach to cottage garden life.

In June 2026, ITV West Country News visited Honehill Cottage Garden to film a feature on Delia's garden journey and her debut book, Under a Devon Sky. The segment aired on 9th July 2026, bringing the story of this beautiful Devon cottage garden to viewers across the South West.

In Under A Devon Sky, Delia shares her seasonal diary of what is growing throughout the months, alongside a heart-led and resourceful look at life in the garden. The book features seasonal writing, growing ideas, seasonal recipes, and stunning original illustrations by Anna Platts. The creative vision, writing, and distinctive page layouts — including the colourful use of vintage wallpapers and ribbons — were conceived and created by Delia May West.
